Most Americans now think of this as the brand of a breakfast cereal and may have heard a part of this song in advertising.  I remember hearing this as a very young cowboy (five or six years old).  I never thought about the words or the story, we just loved the song and sang it over and over.  And if you must know, that would be about 1959 or 60.

This song has a rather sweet and linear logic for understanding how love works.  It even shares the origins of creating a lovely wife.  This is very instructive for those in modern educational systems which make everything so complicated.  This is a great and simple song.  Remember to smile a lot with your practice.  Most conventional English teachers put you  at a distinct disadvantage by not emphasizing the importance of smiling for spoken English.
